This is the catalogue for the permanent exhibition at Brigham Young University's Museum of Art. It highlights 73 American paintings from the collection, including works by artists such as Benjamin West, George Catlin, Asher B. Durand, George Inness, Albert Bierstadt, Thomas Moran, Frederic Church, J. Alden Weir and Childe Hassam. Several paintings are representative of the Hudson River school and American Expressionism. Each painting is reproduced in full colour and is accompanied by text which places the work within the artist's oeuvre as well as within a larger historical and cultural framework.
